Leadership Programs

Campers 16 and older can begin our Leadership (LIT) program, a two-year course that teaches skills for leading activities and becoming a successful cabin counsellor.

High School Credits:

Onondaga Camp’s LIT program is unique—participants can earn Ontario Secondary School credits while learning leadership skills.

Course: Healthy Active Living, Grade 11 (PAD30)

Focus on healthy lifestyles, outdoor activities, sports, goal-setting, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.

Course: Recreation & Healthy Active Living Leadership, Grade 12 (PLF4M)

Focus on planning and leading recreational activities, mentoring, and promoting fitness, well-being, and personal safety.

Provincial Certification: Onondaga Camp offers LIT participants the opportunity to earn:

  • Life Saving Society - Bronze Cross
  • Life Saving Society - National Lifeguard – Waterfront (NL)
  • Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
  • Ontario Recreational Canoe & Kayak Association Camp Canoe Instructor
  • Ontario Recreational Canoe & Kayak Association Camp Kayak Instructor
  • Water Ski Wakeboard Ontario (WSWO) Foundations
  • CANSail Community Instructor
The LIT program prepares campers for future leadership roles, both at camp and beyond.
