Leadership Programs
Campers 16 and older can begin our Leadership (LIT) program, a two-year course that teaches skills for leading activities and becoming a successful cabin counsellor.
High School Credits:
Onondaga Camp’s LIT program is unique—participants can earn Ontario Secondary School credits while learning leadership skills.
LIT One – Foundation Year:
Course: Healthy Active Living, Grade 11 (PAD30)
Focus on healthy lifestyles, outdoor activities, sports, goal-setting, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
LIT Two – Apprenticeship Year:
Course: Recreation & Healthy Active Living Leadership, Grade 12 (PLF4M)
Focus on planning and leading recreational activities, mentoring, and promoting fitness, well-being, and personal safety.
Provincial Certification: Onondaga Camp offers LIT participants the opportunity to earn:
- Life Saving Society - Bronze Cross
- Life Saving Society - National Lifeguard – Waterfront (NL)
- Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
- Ontario Recreational Canoe & Kayak Association Camp Canoe Instructor
- Ontario Recreational Canoe & Kayak Association Camp Kayak Instructor
- Water Ski Wakeboard Ontario (WSWO) Foundations
- CANSail Community Instructor
